Highly acclaimed Indian Dance Company, Balbir Singh, will bring live music, imagination and a fusion of Indian and contemporary dance to Cheshire in two shows called Champion of the Flatlands and Decreasing Infinity.

Performed at the award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum’s historic Thompson Suite in Northwich at 7.30pm on Friday, November 11, tickets cost £8.50 for adults and £6.50 for under 16-year olds.

Tickets are available at the museum by calling 01606 275000 or by visiting www.ticketsource.co.uk/cheshireruraltouringarts.

Champions of the Flatlands is a creative dance combining cycling with a cast of dancers and musicians.

It brings to life the worlds of Flatlands BMX and classic Indian dance, revealing the discipline and creativity shared by both. It features UK and Euro champion cyclist Keelan Phillips.

Decreasing Infinity is a dynamic duet with live music driven by a strong rhythmic score.

It is a fusion of classic North Indian and contemporary dance styles, seen as the two dancers mirror and translate dance languages in a physical ‘conversation’ that brings them closer together to create something new.

Balbir Singh said: “This double bill is a firm favourite amongst audiences. It is beautifully choreographed with great dance and music. But more than that, it expands the audiences’ horizons in a new and refreshing way. By surprising the audience, it challenges pre-conceived ideas, showing that what seems not to belong together can become much more than the sum of the parts.”

Cabinet member for communities and wellbeing at Cheshire West and Chester Council Councillor Louise Gittins said: “This promises to be an astonishing night of live music and dance, bringing a synthesis of dance styles together in a fresh and exciting way. This is just one of the exciting live performances that the Lion Salt Works Museum is staging this autumn.”
