A Northwich drug dealer who was making £600 a time delivering illegal substances to users has been told by top judges he cannot complain about his jail term.

Gabriel Lucien Finlayson was caught red-handed with a number of class A, B and C drugs when police raided his house in January 2014.

Officers also found £500 cash and ‘all the tools of the trade’ of a drug dealer, London’s Criminal Appeal Court heard.

The 24-year-old, of Stoneheys Lane, Barnton, near Northwich, was jailed for five years and eight months at Chester Crown Court in November last year.

He previously admitted 13 counts of possessing drugs - including MDMA, ketamine, cannabis and mephedrone - with intent to supply.

Finlayson was also in breach of a two-year suspended sentence for a previous offence of drug possession.

He made a bid to have his sentence cut at the Appeal Court on Friday (July 8), with his lawyers arguing it was far too tough.

But, dismissing his appeal, Mrs Justice Lang said his punishment could not be criticised.

Sitting with Lord Justice Gross and Sir Brian Keith, she added: “In the unusual circumstances of this case, the judge’s approach to activating the suspended sentence in full was justified.”
