Northwich will be transformed into a winter wonderland for the town’s Christmas Extravaganza next month.

Organisers say this year’s event on November 26 will be bigger and better than ever thanks to a host of new activities and attractions to keep the crowds entertained.

But family favourites like the lantern parade, Christmas lights switch-on and firework finale will be making a welcome return.

More than 30 of the town’s businesses – including Visual Arts Cheshire, Crafty Stitches and Sew Easy to name just a few – will be coming out on to the streets to man their very own yuletide stalls offering handmade and original Christmas gifts.

Northwich BID officer Mark Henshaw has praised local independents for getting on board with the event.

Santa is coming in

He said: “Each year we’ve had a great range of attractions and activities for the whole family but never before have our traders agreed to come out in such force and get into the festive spirit.

“It’s fantastic to see and will bring a brilliant diversity to the day – I can’t wait to see all the different retailers’ stalls and they’ll provide a good mix of products and goodies alongside our other main attractions.”

The stalls will be located at the top end of Witton Street and on Leicester Street, and Brio Leisure, Northwich Library, Northwich Glass and Cheshire and Warrington Carers will also have stalls.
