A Northwich bypass was closed last night after police were called following concerns for the safety of a teenager.

The A556 Northwich bypass was closed by officers at 8.40pm last night (Wednesday) after police received the report concerning a 15-year-old boy.

He was reported to be in the vicinity of the bypass.

The road was closed from Davenham to King Street for around half an hour.

The teenager was taken to hospital but no further details are currently available.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At approximately 8.40pm last night, we were called following concerns for the safety of a 15-year-old boy who was in the vicinity of the A556.

“Officers attended the scene and the boy was taken to hospital.

“The road was closed for a short period of time and re-opened at 9.10pm.”
