A police appeal has been launched following an attempted robbery on a 61-year-old man in Northwich.

The incident happened on Royle Street just after 9pm on Sunday, January 31.

The victim was walking into Northwich town centre when he was approached by a large group of males who asked him for money whilst producing a weapon.

He suffered no injuries and managed to get away from the group and contacted the police.
