VISITING restrictions have been lifted at the Countess of Chester Hospital after an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea finally cleared up.

Visitors to affected wards had been asked to make an appointment prior to the visit but this is no longer necessary.

The measures aimed to protect patients from the norovirus, otherwise known as winter vomiting.

See the hospital website – www.coch.nhs.uk – for the latest information on visiting times.

Visitors to critically-ill patients, or anyone unable to visit within these times, should contact the nurse in charge of the relevant ward via the switchboard on 01244 365000.
