FANTASTIC food was the order of the day at an award- winning Norley pub.

Carriers Inn, which is in Delamere Road, Norley, beat more than 2,000 Marston’s pubs to scoop the Fine Dining Award at the Marston’s Pub Company Pub Of The Year Awards 2008.

Licensee Andrew Milton said: “I have always encouraged my staff to share my passion for creating and serving beautiful food. It is through their hard work and dedication as much as mine that we have been able to achieve this fantastic accolade.

“It was a fabulous evening at a really impressive venue, and the food wasn’t too bad either.”

The ceremony was held at The Belfry golf club and hosted by England cricketer Matthew Hoggard and Radio One DJ Mark Chapman.

Marston’s Pub Company managing director Alistair Darby said: “We host the awards competition every year in recognition of the pubs in the estate that have really pushed the boundaries, have been innovative in what they offer their customers and have driven their businesses forward.

“It is these businessmen and women that set the benchmark for other pubs in the industry.”
