A DRUGS raid in Newtown resulted in a Nelson Street couple being arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and possession with intent to supply.
The 27-year-old woman and 29-year-old man were arrested by officers from the Chester Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team following a warrant carried out at Nelson Street, Chester, this morning (Wednesday).
Several cannabis plants as well as cultivated cannabis and hydroponics equipment at the loft in the house were recovered.
PC Karen Brook, police officer for Newtown, said: “Most of the information we receive about drug use and supply comes from the public.
“We are very grateful for the cooperation we are enjoying with the residents and businesses of Newtown and we are committed to building on the confidence they have in their local policing team.”
Officers also carried out two other warrants at a nearby address and a 26 year-old man was issued with a cannabis warning after a small amount of the drug was found.
The couple were released on police bail pending further enquiries.
