YOUNGSTERS at Newton Primary School have been learning all about first aid.

The Year 6 pupils completed an Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools (IMPS) course.

The children learnt how to deal with casualties such as putting them in the recovery position and how to perform CPR.

Each year, more than 3,500 Year 6 children from Cheshire schools receive the free training which is supported by St John Ambulance Cheshire.

The programme in Cheshire costs around £50,000 per year to run.
