The sun shone as Newton Primary School held its summer fair.

It was a real community event, with children, parents, staff and governors involved in its organisation.

A big thank you was paid to the Newton Primary School PTA, who not only organised lots of stalls but also arranged for the police helicopter to be in attendance.

Chris Forder from the police, St Michael’s Church members and Judith Gilmour representing the CEPD Sports group, also assisted on the day.

The school raised about £3,000 in profit and this will be spent on extending the activity trail and completing the climbing wall.
