A NEW shop front was proposed at a suburban takeaway.

The application, which included alterations at the rear of the premises, was made at 86 Weston Grove, Upton, by Mr Abdul Sattar.

The new shop front would be similar in appearance to other premises in the parade according to planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council.

No objections were raised by Upton-by-Chester and District Parish Council or by neighbours who were consulted.

Permission was granted last year for the use of storage above the shop as a flat, according to a report.

An extension providing access to the flat would remain but pitched roof storage in a yard would now have a flat roof.

The alterations at the rear would be in keeping and would be similar to other nearby extensions, planners believed.

There would be no unacceptably detrimental effect on nearby occupiers.

The application was recommended for approval as the alterations to the premises would not be unduly harmful to the character of the area.

The borough council agreed that Mr Sattar could have permission.
