THE city of Chester now has genuine Italian dining on its doorstep, thanks to the arrival of Carluccio’s on Bridge Street.

Offering the much-loved combination of an all day caffè, restaurant, deli and foodshop, Carluccio’s offers affordable Italian eating, drinking and shopping.

Situated in a Grade I listed building on the ground floor of one of Chester’s famous medieval Rows, Carluccio’s interior is a contrast to its timbered exterior.

Built in 1897 for the First Duke of Westminster, the site is said to be the only true Rows building that architect John Douglas contributed to Chester.

A striking wall mural inside depicting a traditional Italian delicatessen, complete with hanging Parma ham, gives a true feeling of Italy and, on warmer days, customers can dine alfresco on the terrace and really enjoy a slice of la dolce vita.
