A TARPORLEY businessman and parish councillors have launched the village’s business association.
David Carter, a past-president of Tarporley Rotary Club and a resident for more than 20 years, will head the new group.
He hopes to create strong links between the businesses in the village and represent and promote them to the wider community.
The association will look at promoting the image of Tarporley, improving business understanding of residents’ needs and expectations and provide a voice and face for businesses.
David said: “I applied for the position because I am passionate about both Tarporley and helping businesses to grow.
“I have been a member of the Rotary Club's community and vocational committee for some years and see this as a further opportunity to serve both the business and the resident community.”
As his day job David works for BusinessLink Northwest, where he helps businesses to grow and he hopes his expertise in this field will benefit those in Tarporley.
Parish council chairman Heidi Nickson said at the last meeting: “We are very pleased to have recruited David to launch the association.
“There are around 250 businesses in Tarporley and surrounding area which will benefit.”
