INSPIRED by the Beatles’ song A Hard Day’s Night, a new exhibition at the Chester History and Heritage Centre focuses on the life of the working man in the city.

This photographic exhibition looks at the daily grind of Chester men, some of whom worked hard at jobs that were exhausting and arduous, sometimes boringly mundane and often downright dangerous. Many worked for low pay and in varying conditions.

The exhibition, which runs until March 29 at the centre on Bridge Street, look at factory workers, chainmakers, bus drivers and labouring gangs.

If you have any family photographs to add to the exhibition email chh@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk or call in at St Michael’s Church on the corner of Bridge Street and Pepper Street. Your photographs will be scanned and returned to you.

If you recognise anyone in any of these photographs email jo.henwood@trinitymirror.com.
