A NEW ERA begins in Tattenenhall next month with the opening of a day centre.

The Tattenhall Diamond Club will function in the same way as its predecessor the Age Concern Day Centre, which was forced to close due to lack of funding.

Residents across Cheshire vowed to save day care centres in rural communities, volunteering their free time to form the Rural Community Services Group (RCS).

The organisation will also be operating in Tarporley, Kelsall, Helsby and Malpas

Tattenhall Diamond Club will meet at the Barbour Institute on Tuesdays, but all the organisation will be done by RCS.

A local management committee will deal with the day to day arrangements, ensuring that every Tuesday runs smoothly.

The Diamond Club will be opened by the former High Sherriff of Cheshire, Diana Barbour, in the main hall of the Barbour Institute on Tuesday, June 7, at 11am.

All members, volunteers, relatives of members, and friends from the Tuesday drop-ins are invited to celebrate the opening, and can attend from 10am for a coffee morning.

If you would like to go along, please confirm your attendance to David Thomson on 01829 770178 by June 3.
