THE first customer to use the new Costa drive-through coffee shop in Chester resorted to using a more old-fashioned type of horsepower.
Jockey Craig Ellingham and horse Rocketball – trained by Saighton-based Lisa Williamson – officially unveiled the £300,000 store at the Deva Retail Park on Friday morning in celebration of the city’s flat racing heritage.
The shop is the first Costa drive-through to open in the North West and has created 20 jobs.
It is open from 5.30am until 9pm Monday to Saturday, and 7am-9pm on Sundays.
Costa regional manager Mark Donaghey said: “The new Costa Drive Thru stores offer something new to those who are on the move and are looking for a great coffee without the wait.
“We have invested over £300,000 into making this a great place not only for people to grab a coffee on the move, but also to relax and enjoy a leisurely drink and chat.”
