The Round Table which covers Wirral, Chester and North East Wales has appointed a new chairman.

Steve Tasker, of Heswall Round Table, is the 2016/17 chairman for Area 36 which has five group in the area including Hoylake & West Kirby, Heswall, Chester, Deeside and Wrexham.

Last year these five tables helped to raise more than £60,000 for good causes in their communities, from Christmas floats to bonfire night celebrations to beer festivals.

Steve has taken over from Dave Tilston, and is looking forward to working with all the members of Area 36 members to introduce a range of new social activities, and further support local communities through fundraising events.

Round Table Area 36 has been established since 1956 and is open to men from all walks of life.

Steve said: “It’s an exciting time to be part of Round Table as it is an organisation which is growing and giving more men in their communities the chance to embrace life to the full.

“It’s a great honour for me be the chairman and I am looking forward to bringing something new to all the Tables within Area 36, which will give existing and new members the chance to simply have fun and build long-lasting friendships.”
