Marks & Spencer will unveil the modernisation of its Foregate Street store in Chester to customers on Thursday, April 10, just in time for Easter.

The Chester Foregate store will see a full modernisation, introducing a new beauty department and M&S bakery, as well as new décor and layout.

Customers can also look forward to a new 250-seat café, which will serve hot and cold dishes, desserts, sandwiches and an extensive selection of drinks and Fairtrade tea and coffee.

Store manager Jonathan Bradburn said: “We are thrilled to be moving towards the final stages of modernising our Chester Foregate Street store.

“Not only will the new décor and layout conveniently bring all of our clothing and food under one roof, but we are also delighted to introduce several new departments.

“The store has a new beauty department, with specially trained beauty assistants and branded beauty products, a new bakery offering freshly baked pastries and speciality breads, as well as a new 250- seat café.

“We are very excited by the changes we have in store and look forward to welcoming our customers to the unveiling on Thursday, April 10.”

As part of the modernisation, the M&S satellite store on the northern side of the street (currently home and menswear) will close, with both departments and staff moving to the main store. No details have yet been revealed regarding the future use of these premises.

M&S Chester Foregate Street will remain open throughout the remaining refurbishment works and the M&S satellite store will close on Sunday, March 16.
