Roads in Neston are due to be closed on Thursday afternoon (June 2) for the annual Ladies Day Parade by Neston Female Society.
The highway authority says the following lengths of road will be closed from 1pm to 6pm:
- The Cross, Neston,
- High Street between Bridge Street and Raby Road.
- Chester Road between Gladstone Road and High Street.
- Ladies Walk between Liverpool Road and Raby Road.
- Raby Road between Liverpool Road and High Street.
- Parkgate Road between Mill Street and The Cross.
- Mill Street at its junction with Parkgate Road.
- Beechways Drive at its junction with Parkgate Road.
- Church Lane at its junction with Beechways Drive.
- Brook Street between car park entrances and The Cross.
For all road closures locally signed diversions will apply.
The walk is held annually on the first Thursday in June.
This year the parade will depart from the Market Square, proceed along Ladies Walk and down the High Street for a service at Neston Parish Church.
After the service the procession will make its way via Church Lane and Parkgate Road to gather round Neston Cross for a short service and blessing from the clergy.
It will then make its way down High Street, Bridge Street and Chester Road to Neston Civic Hall.
To enhance the celebrations a programme of entertainment will take place in the town centre.
