A NESTON man has appeared in court today (Monday, August 30) charged with attempted murder.

Andrew McIntosh, 51, of Inverlea in Ness, is accused of attacking Paul Greaves, 47, with a knife at a house in Frobisher Road, Neston, at 7.15pm on Friday.

The victim sustained a serious head injury and required surgery to his right hand. He is in a stable condition.

McIntosh is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon and drink driving.

He was refused bail and will appear at Chester Crown Court on September 27 for a preliminary hearing.
