Hundreds of years of history were crammed into two days at the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port.

The Horses at Work and War event saw horsemen and women demonstrating the role of the horse in our lives from the battlefield of Waterloo in 1815, through the Western Front in 1915 up to the present day in a fascinating series of talks and practical demonstrations.

Pony rides, wagonette rides, and a demonstration of the farrier’s skills were just part of the attractions over the two days.
