A MYSTERY supermarket giant is planning to move into three-storey premises on Boughton Retail Park alongside a new office building.
The move would transform views along the Shropshire Union Canal, with glass-fronted offices rising to 25 metres overlooking the waterway and rivalling the steam mill, shot tower and water tower’s grand heights.
If they are given the go-ahead by Chester City Council, the chain, which is thought to have no presence in the centre of Chester and have an ‘s’ in its name, needs the approval of Chester City Council’s planning department.
A planning application for the multi-storey scheme to demolish and rebuild the retail park was sent to surrounding properties last week.
The proposals have already met with opposition from residents of Wharton Court which faces the proposed location of the store’s service area, where lorries will deliver goods.
