Junior school pupils at Newton Primary School performed in a summer concert held recently.
A supportive and enthusiastic audience heard songs performed by each year group and a selection of instrumental items by the 15- strong guitar group and 58 Year 3 recorders.
There were various solo items including a confident performance by a eight-year-old harpist Bethan Sheldrick.
Music co-ordinator Sue Stringer commented that this was the first harpist that she had encountered in 30 years of organising school concerts and she was delighted with the children’s performance.
