A FAMILY-FRIENDLY gastro pub is to open after a multi-million pound renovation.

On Thursday (February 7) The Fishpool Inn at Delamere will finally open its doors after a year long transformation from a quaint country property into a welcoming pub.

The pub joins Cheshire-based Nelson Hotels’ three other hotels and pubs – The Grosvenor Pulford Hotel and Spa, the Bear’s Paw and the Pheasant Inn – following a £2.9m regeneration project.

It is hoped the pub will create about 50 jobs.

The company is also hoping to see hundreds of families and food-lovers flock to the beer garden or shelter by the roaring fire.

During the renovation the pub was extended and cellar was constructed nine feet below the building to house local real ales and fine wines.

Food-lovers are promised hearty meals, with chefs drawing from traditional British meals and modern European dishes.

There will also be an open kitchen for diners to watch food being prepared and a Spanish charcoal oven to produce hand-crafted pies, pizzas and flatbreads.

And customers will be able to see dogs being trained as a dog training school remains on-site, with a new office in the form of a quaint log cabin.

Nelson Hotels’ operations director Andrew Nelson said: “We’re very excited about The Fishpool Inn and we’re working extremely hard to deliver another outstanding venue for Cheshire.

“Whether coming to dine or drink, all guests will experience a friendly welcome and the highest of standards in beautiful, ambient surroundings.

“We’re overwhelmed with the interest so far, with our opening Friday and Saturday evenings fully booked within a week of announcing our opening date.

“The renovation of the Fishpool Inn has created a lot of excitement in the area and we hope for this to long continue.”
