THE future of the Chester branch of Mothercare is uncertain as the company announced today it would close 111 stores over the next three years.
The Chester Retail Park branch, on Old Seal’s Way, escaped the axe less than a year ago when the struggling mother and baby group announced the first round of closures in May 2011.
A spokesperson from the company’s head office said: “We are not announcing today the location of the 111 stores still to close as they will close progressively over three years depending on leases and other factors.”
The planned closures will affect 36 Mothercare sites and 75 Early Learning Centres.
