ALL creatures great and small invaded a Chester primary school.

The lunchtime drama club at St Oswald Primary School in Mollington staged Down in the Jungle this week, a mini-production featuring creatures from the rainforests of the world.

Children have studied rainforests extensively this term and their enthusiasm for the topic made it the natural performance choice.

Instead of using elaborate costumes the Years 1 and 2 pupils were encouraged to use puppets, movement and gesture to create the jungle creatures.

The script featured rhyming couplets and many well-known songs so that children could hook into rhyme and rhythm to tell the story of jungle life.
