A YOUTH arts company has secured funding to work with young people in Cheshire villages.

Minerva Arts has been given money from Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts fund for a project entitled Arts in the Villages.

The scheme aims to provide young people living in Tarvin, Tarporley, Tattenhall and Malpas with the opportunity to take part in arts activity without having to travel. Four artists will work with the youngsters, allowing them to try out different art forms before working towards a final performance in June.

The company is now looking for young people aged 10-16 living in Tattenhall and Tarporley to take part in the project. The Tarvin and Malpas projects will involve existing youth groups.

There is no experience needed, just bags of enthusiasm for drama, dance, music and photography.

All participants will gain an arts award.

There is no need to book and you can just turn up at the first session.

Sessions are at Tarporley Community Centre on February 25 from 5.30-7.30pm or at Tattenhall Barbour Institute on February 27 from 5-7pm
