COUNTESS of Chester staff celebrated 10 years of the Chester Childbirth Appeal’s Comfort Zone with a new refurbishment, opened by Louise Owen, wife of footballer Michael.

Mrs Owen, one of the appeal's principal patrons met with workers and volunteers on December 15 to rededicate the Comfort Zone to its first patron, Diana, Princess of Wales who opened the hospital in 1984.

The Childbirth Appeal serves as a haven away from the hospital's wards, providing a cafe, shop and ensuite accomodation for patients and families.

The Appeal's Director Pat Daniels said: “We were delighted Louise could takepart in something that means so much to us.”
