THE sound of maracas filled the air at a care home where residents donned ponchos and sombreros.

Getting in the mood for summer, residents and staff at Florence Grogan House in Blacon, Chester, held a fun, Mexican-themed social event.

The party-goers dressed up in colourful ponchos and sombrero hats.

The home was transformed with themed decorations, and catering staff put on a special feast of fajitas and enchiladas.

The residents enjoy an active social calendar looked after by the home’s dedicated activity co-ordinator, Molly Kendall. Staff are planning a pamper day on Saturday, May 22.
