A MEMORY garden to help Alzheimer’s disease sufferers at a Frodsham care home has been unveiled.

Deputy Mayor of Frodsham Brian Lloyd – who stood in for Mayor Geoff Bath after the volcanic ash cloud left him stranded in Vietnam – opened the newly-created garden at the Frodsham Christian Nursing Home, Main Street.

Tracy Johnson, area manager for Southern Cross Healthcare, the company that owns the home, said: “We hope the garden will provide a safe and secure space where residents can relax and spend time.”

The garden was designed with the aim of helping residents of the home with dementia by providing different sensory stimulations, the garden includes a variety of flowers and a pet rabbit.
