Members of a social group in Helsby have raised more than £100 for a local hospice

A SOCIAL group in Helsby raised more than £100 for a vital care service in Backford.

Members of the Tuesday Club raised money during their weekly get together for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in Backford.

During the afternoon meeting the members hear talks from fundraisers for the hospice, which needs more than £6,000 a day to survive.

Shirley Knipe said: “Some of our ladies have been touched personally by the care at the Hospice so we invited a member of the fundraising team to talk to us about their good work and how they support the communities of Frodsham and Helsby.”
