A CHESTER family have picked up a hat-trick of ASBOs when Kevin Anthony Moore, 39, became the third of three brothers to be banned from city centre shops.

Chester magistrates slapped a five-year anti-social behaviour order on Moore on Wednesday after hearing his history of crime and threatening behaviour.

Moore, of Cornwall Street, Chester, is now banned from entering any retail premises within Chester inner ring road and the Greyhound retail park until 2013.

Kevin’s brothers, John Joseph Moore, 45, and Martin Francis Moore, 36, are already subject to ASBOs until August 29, 2012, which also prevent them from entering shops in Chester.

They are all also banned from using, or encouraging others to use, foul, abusive or insulting, offensive, threatening or intimidating language or behaviour towards security staff and other staff of retail premises, and from threatening or engaging in violence or criminal damage.

Sergeant Andy Pickup, of Cheshire Constabulary, said: “It is particularly pleasing that the court have deemed it appropriate to grant this five-year order; Kevin Moore has a long history of committing crime against retailers in Chester and used intimidation in order to achieve this.

“The order will provide protection to those working in Chester City centre and the Greyhound Retail Park. Cheshire police will monitor Moore’s compliance with the order and will follow up any breaches.”

This ASBO was granted following a theft committed on September 15 at Boots on Northgate Street, Chester, for which Kevin Moore received a suspended four-week prison sentence and 150 hours’ unpaid work.
