SHELL has teamed up with some furry friends at Chester Zoo to celebrate improving safety awareness at its Stanlow site.

The company’s new safety initiative – Kool for Kats – aims to create a clearer appreciation of what causes accidents and what can be done to prevent them, especially by looking out for each other.

With this in mind, Stanlow based its safety scheme on the behaviour of the ever-watchful meerkat and then agreed a £4,000 sponsorship of the animals with Chester Zoo.

The recent television programme, Meerkat Manor, has raised the profile of the species in a big way.
