VOLUNTEERS are being sought for a mass tree planting session to help save the much-loved woodland in the grounds of Frodsham’s historic Castle Park.

Hundreds of native trees and shrubs – purchased with a £500 grant from Cheshire West and Chester Councillor Andrew Dawson’s member’s budget – will be planted throughout the park’s woodland on February 21 between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

The council’s Greenspace Ranger, Stephanie Hefferan, said: “Planting is our only way of ensuring the woodland’s survival for future generations.”

Any community groups interested in taking part in the planting should email Stephanie.hefferan@ cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.

Individual volunteers can attend throughout the day.
