IT WAS party time in Pinetum care home as Marjorie Martin celebrated her 104th birthday last Thursday.
Friends and family gathered at the care home in the Countess of Chester Health Park to toast the occasion.
Marjorie’s sons Donald Martin and Michael Martin, daughter Beryl MartinSimonds and daughter-in-law Meryl Martin attended the festivities.
Beryl said everybody enjoyed the party at the care home.
She said: “It was fun. Marjorie had a classical pianist to come and play, which she really enjoyed as she was a piano teacher.
“She used to teach music until she was 93, teaching at schools in the south of England, and she played the piano for my dancing school from her home in Newtown.”
Marjorie was born in Conwy in 1906 and lived in Connah’s Quay after she married her husband William, before she moved to Chester in 1952.
William was a flight lieutenant in the Royal Air Force and was based in Connah’s Quay. He died in 1985.
Beryl added: “We had a lovely party with cake and candles, where some of the residents and staff members joined in, while friends and family popped in to visit during the day when they could.”
