CHESTER pupils will learn to cook the military way when members of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines’ chef presentation team drop in to hold workshops next week.

Led by Royal Marine chef, Colour Sergeant Mike Beaton, the team will visit Christleton High School on Tuesday and Upton High School on Thursday.

Children will learn to cook a healthy and nutritious meal while learning more about life in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

The pupils will also get the chance to taste ration packs currently being used by service personnel on operations.

During an afternoon session, Mike and his team will put the pupils though their paces ,giving them a Royal Marine style-PE lesson, .

Mike said: “The aim of these visits is to inform pupils of the importance and benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle and who better to do this than sailors and marines who need to adopt this approach if they are to succeed in their careers.

“Fitness, especially in the Royal Marines, is of paramount importance and our physical training instructors have an excellent reputation throughout the Armed Forces for making sure our people are at peak fitness at all times.”
