ELLESMERE Port Live at Home scheme has received £158 from a runner in the Chester Half Marathon.

Marcus Reid, 42, from Queensferry had never taken part in the race before but raised the funds for the Whitby Road group, which supports older people staying independent in their homes.

Activities include a twice-weekly welcome centre at Trinity Church and twice-weekly luncheon club in Neston.

Other services include outings, one-to-one befriending, an assisted shopping service, telephone link and bi-monthly newsletter.
