A body was removed from a house in Hoole on Thursday evening (June 9).

Police have revealed they were called to the property on Edna Street by a neighbour regarding concerns for a person's safety at around 5.30pm.

Officers attending the scene found a deceased male.

A spokesman for Cheshire police said the death is not believed to be suspicious.

In a statement, the spokesman said: "At approximately 5.30pm on June 9, 2016, to reports of concerns for the welfare of a resident on Edna Street, Chester, officers attended the scene, along with colleagues from NWAS, and accessed the property and discovered the body of a man.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner."
