GIRLS from around the North West travelled to Chester to find out more about China.

Almost 50 girls, aged between seven and 10, attended the free Mandarin morning at The Queen’s School in Chester which included activities like lion dancing, making Chinese puppets and hand drums, peacock dancing and a Mandarin language session.

Melody Lewis, 10, of Holywell said: “There were so many different activities all morning and I especially enjoyed making a terracotta warrior. I have taught some people in my school in assembly how to count in Mandarin. ”
