MANCHESTER Camerata is to provide a unique series of workshops in the Lord Leverhulme Suite at Chester Racecourse on Saturday, April 23, as part of The Food, Drink and Lifestyle festival.

Each self-contained workshop will aim to develop a section of film relating to the specific Chester Festival or Chester identity using puppetry and music: Giants – Romans – Comedy.

Each group will work with Camerata musicians, visual artist and film artist to develop their section, devising a script, story or narrative, creating and filming their puppets and developing programmatic music to tell the story.

Entry is free but limited to 30 people per workshop and it is recommend you book for you and your family be emailing rebecca@scwirrel.com and advising which session you would like.

Nick Ponsillo, of Manchester Camerata, explained: “We want people to come and get creative as a family to tell your own story about Chester; the Romans that once marched around the walls, the Giants that would scare the citizens and the laughs that people had in the streets.

“This is your chance to create a whole new history about Chester in film, music and puppets by creating a new film and soundtrack alongside professional musicians, visual and film artists.”
