A SELF-EMPLOYED man committed suicide in an area of 'outstanding natural beauty' on the Sandstone Trail in Tarporley.
An inquest heard on Friday that Ralph Stephen Badley Jones, 45, of Cumberland Drive in Altrincham, used propane gas to commit suicide while sitting in his van on or about February 13.
He had recently set up a business laying driveways with thehelpofhis wife Katherine.
She said: 'He was something of a worrier and suffered from depression - he was prescribed Prozac in 2000. It was work that he would worry about and he would bottle it up inside.'
She explained that after the company was a victim of fraud Mr Jones was 'taken over the edge'.
Mr Jones had parked on the side of the road and was seen by a horse rider and a number of other local people on February 12.
He was discovered the morning after.
Coroner for Cheshire Nicholas Rheinberg ruled that Mr Jones took his own life while the balance of his mind was disturbed.
