A man was hit by a train in Newton-by-Tattenhall on Sunday night (March 1).
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the railway line near to Ford Lane at 10.45pm.
The 22-year-old, who was local to the area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A BTP spokesman said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and the man’s family have been notified.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Cheshire police and North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
