A 24-year-old man is in hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after a fight in Northwich town centre.

Officers from Northwich CID are appealing for witnesses after the altercation between two men outside Halifax Bank on Witton Street.

It is believed to have happened between 2am and 2.30am on Sunday (May 1).

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “As a result of the incident one of the men involved in the incident, a 24-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries, he is currently recovering in hospital.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoiting incident number 449 of May 1.
