A GRIEVING cousin of murder victim William Reginald Ney has appealed for his killer to give himself up to the police.

Gary Sharp also urged all witnesses to the Saturday attack in Chester which led to Mr Ney's death to come forward.

Mr Sharp held up an e-fit picture of the thug who is thought to have struck the fatal blow to Mr Ney, who everyone knew as Bill.

The cousins had been out for the day in Chester on Saturday. They went to the races before going to Brannigans in Foregate Street to watch the England v Germany football match.

Mr Ney of New Mills in Derbyshire then left the venue to call for their minibus. Minutes later, he was being taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with serious head injuries after being attacked outside.

He was immediately transferred to Fazakerley Hospitalin Liverpool, where he died on W ednesday evening.

Chester CID have now launched a murder hunt.
