AN EARLY morning road crash left a young man with spinal injuries.

Just before 7am on Monday, firefighters had to help release a man from his car and put him on to a spine board after the incident on Corkscrew Lane, Clotton. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The man was suspected to be suffering from spinal injuries so emergency service staff said they had to be careful removing him from his vehicle.

The paramedics and ambulance helped with a KED (Kendrick Extracation Device) locked around the casualty to lift him out of the vehicle.

The man, in his 20s, is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.
