A 60-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries following an early hours incident in Chester City Centre.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault following the affray, which happened near KingKabs taxi firm on Bridge Street at about 12.30am this morning (Monday, March 30).

Police say the victim, from Chester, is currently in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.

The three men who were arrested are currently being held in police custody.

This morning, the area outside KingKabs was cordoned off with police tape and two officers were standing at the scene.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: "At approximately 12.30am, Cheshire police were called to reports of an incident in Chester city centre. Officers attended the scene and found that they had been an affray between a group of men outside a premises on Bridge Street.

"Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 25 of 30/3/2015, alternatively information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 .
