An 18-year-old has been charged with assaulting a constable following a dispute over parking at Rufus Court in Chester on Monday (June 15).

The man, who is from Ellesmere Port, was also charged with obstructing a constable in the execution of duty.

He will appear at West Cheshire Magistrates on August 12.

A spokeswoman for Cheshire Constabulary said: "At about 8.40pm on Monday, police were called to Rufus Court in Chester following a parking dispute."

She added that officers smashed the window of a white Audi as part of the arrest.
