POLICE are looking for two cyclists after a 35-year-old man was assaulted.

The incident happened on Greenfield Road at around 11.30pm on Tuesday, December 7, as the victim walked home from Chester.

As the victim walked along Hoole Lane near the turning for Fairfield Road, two men on bikes rode passed and one of them nearly knocked into him.

The two offenders followed the victim as he turned into Greenfield Road from Fairfield Road and assaulted him, knocking him to the ground. They were disturbed by a member of the public and rode away. The victim suffered bruising to his face and body as a result of the attack.

Detective Constable Lewis-Jones, Chester CID said: “The victim was attacked for no good reason and fortunately a member of the public disturbed the offenders otherwise he may have been more seriously injured.

“If anyone saw the attack or two men on bikes in the area around this time then please call police.”

The first offender is described as white, aged mid 20's and was wearing a dark coloured puffer jacket and riding a blue bike with rear suspension.

The second offender is described as white, aged mid 20's and was wearing a very dark coloured jacket, a dark beanie style hat and was riding a bike with a light and reflector on the seat stem.

Just prior to this incident, at 11.20pm, a car window was smashed on Pine Grove, Chester, and two men matching these descriptions were seen riding away.
