A young farmer has been crowned Cheshire Dairy Queen at the Cheshire Young Farmers rally held at Reaseheath College.

Malpas young farmer Larissa Jones was crowned at the annual event on May 24.

She will be supported by her new ladies in waiting Jessica Simms and Victoria Bennion, both of Middlewich YFC. Their first official outing will be at the Cheshire Show on June 23 and 24, where they lead the parade of YFC floats into the main ring.

Last year’s Dairy Queen team, which included Dairy Queen Beth Ford of Beeston YFC along with ladies in waiting Charlotte Barber of Nantwich and Holly Pratico of Knutsford, raised more than £17,000 for Bowel Cancer UK, St Luke’s Hospice and Kidneys for Life.

Rally day is a chance for all 11 Cheshire Young Farmers clubs to come together and take part in competitions and activities.

There was a woodwork competition, along with stock judging, welding, machinery valuation, tractor driving, tug of war and novelty competitions. There was also a home craft tent featuring exhibits such as flower arranging, handicraft items, homemade chutneys and cakes.
