APPROVAL was granted for the conversion of a dilapidated vacant shop to residential use.
The application was put forward at the Old Hall Stores, Oldhall Street, Malpas by the Red Lion Hotel.
An old garage and outbuildings at the rear would be demolished to create car parking and a garden, planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council were told.
The shop would become a two storey, two bedroom home.
Malpas Parish Council said it supported the benefits to the Malpas Conservation Area of bringing derelict buildings back into use.
The council agreed the conversion could have permission.
